Group Coordinator- London Studio

We are currently seeking a proactive Administrator to join our Architecture Studio in Central London.

Embedded within an architectural project group of around 15 people, the Group Coordinator role provides administrative support to the team, prioritising effectively and often working to tight deadlines. We have four project groups in the London Studio with each group responsible for carrying out a number of architectural, masterplanning and urban design projects.

The Group Coordinator role is diverse and challenging. Duties will range from managing complex document control across different projects, keeping digital and paper project files up to date for quality management purposes, through to assisting with monthly financial admin tasks, helping out with office support duties and answering the phones at busy times. The role also assists architects with the preparation of InDesign reports and new work bid documents.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are required. A background of working in a design or architectural atmosphere could be an advantage, but is not essential. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite software would be beneficial.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm.

BIM Manager- Bath Studio

We are looking for someone to take on the exciting challenge of expanding our BIM process across the practice while overseeing our growing team of BIM coordinators and BIM enthusiastic Architects. This position will operate at a senior level but with a hands-on approach when needed.

As our practice continues to fully embrace the opportunities of BIM, and to benefit from the efficiencies obtained through integrated BIM processes, it is important that we recognise, value and protect existing modalities of creative practice. Methods of design, communication and collaboration that lead to our best work must be seamlessly combined with enhanced and more joined-up development in the BIM environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of this cultural dimension, and offer a clear vision of how to adaptively balance creative and exploratory design practice with effective and well-oiled systems for BIM based development and delivery

The role would suit an experienced Architect with BIM Management skills as well as experienced BIM Managers and Construction Professionals with significant BIM experience. The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge, good communication skills and good project management experience, will also be able to talk and be understood with ease about excellent BIM practice to anyone across the Studios and enjoy the process of acceleration of BIM at FCBStudios.

This role will operate from the Bath Studio but working across the practice with the other members of the BIM team.

BIM Technician - London Studio

We currently have an opportunity for a BIM Technician to join our London Studio, working closely with our existing BIM team. This role will support the London BIM Studio Manager, engaging with projects across the practice.

You will have a good working knowledge of BIM methodologies and UK BIM standards, and hold a relevant degree/ qualification. Previous experience working with Common Data Environments is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will ideally be a recent graduate (ideally 1-3 post-University) who has strong Revit experience along with; excellent communication skills, the ability to work well within a team and resilient to cope with conflicting demands

You will work with our content developer to create and standardise the FCBStudios BIM Library, whilst providing support to Project Teams regarding BIM software and best practice.

You will create Revit families as required for projects, ensuring all BIM documentation is compliant and in line with FCBS Procedures and standards.

Architectural Apprenticeships- Now closed for 2018

FCBStudios have played a key part of a Trailblazer Group of 20 Architectural Practices to create the UK's first Architecture Apprenticeship standards, in collaboration with the IfA, RIBA, ARB and over 12 UK universities. The group has developed two levels of Apprenticeship: Architectural Assistant which comprises of Part 1 qualification, and Architect, which includes Part 2 and Part 3 qualifications. Both standards have now been approved by the Institute of Apprenticeships.

Apprentices will work within a supportive, nurturing environment where they will be coached and mentored by highly respected professionals within the Architectural industry. Alongside the practical experience, an apprentice will attend university to undertake academic training.

Throughout the course support and guidance will be offered to ensure your experience is a memorable one.
