Federated Hermes, Paradise Birmingham
Three Chamberlain Square is a proposed landmark office building within the Birmingham Paradise Masterplan. Providing 180,000sqft of desirable and attractive office space across 10 floors, our design approach centres on sustainability, wellbeing and place.
Pioneering in its approach to sustainability, our design aspires to the reduction of embodied and operational carbon to achieve a low energy, low carbon building.
One of the first workplaces to be designed post-Covid, our proposals offer an inspiring ‘inside/outside’ environment. Daylight, natural ventilation, dramatic views and access to external spaces are found throughout the building. Agile spaces encourage people to come together to collaborate and exchange ideas as well as offering resilience against future health emergencies.
Rooted in its location, the building takes reference from neighbouring and significant buildings. The adjacent Grade I Listed Birmingham Town Hall has inspired the clearly articulated base, middle and top sections of the building and the façade draws on Birmingham’s tradition of beautifully crafted red terracotta buildings.
Three Chamberlain Square is an elegant and inspiring new office at the forefront of the future workplace agenda. Its design responds to the historic context, provides for the present, and has the future in mind.
The Paradise Masterplan comprises up to 10 new buildings and three new squares connected by high-quality public realm. Accessibility and connectivity are at the heart of the masterplan, opening up new vistas and pedestrian routes across the city.
It sensitively responds to the heritage setting to create a development that is 'of the place', paying homage to the past while setting new standards of modern design and sustainability.
