Matt Williams

Bath
BSc(Hons) MArch DipArch
Matt has developed a significant body of work in the South West, focussing largely on projects that revitalise communities. He has a strong interest in the specificity of ‘place’ and learning from the social, cultural, and historical characteristics of an area. His formative years were spent in Cornwall, working as a traditional boat builder before studying at the Welsh School of Architecture. These experiences began to shape his interest in craftsmanship, detailing, and materiality.
Matt currently leads on the regeneration of Hayle Harbour: a historically significant, post-industrial landscape within the UNESCO Devon and Cornwall World Heritage Site. In 2015 Matt was awarded RIBA South West Project Architect of the Year.
